Different Methods to Convert HTML to JPG
There are a few different ways to do this.
But for the most part, you’ll either be using a screen capture tool or doing it online. We’ll be covering both methods below.
Here are some tools that can help you convert either an HTML file or a website page into a JPG image file:
- Snipping Tool on Windows.
- Lightshot on Mac.
- Online-Convert for online file conversions.
Converting HTML to JPG With Screen Capture Tools
This is the most straightforward way of converting HTML to JPG. You can use the screen capture feature in your operating system (Snipping Tool for windows) or a third-party tool like Lightshot.
On an Apple system, you can create a screenshot instantly by pressing Shift + Command + 4 keys simultaneously. The mouse cursor should become a draggable crosshair when you execute this combination. You should be able to select the specific section of the screen that you want to include in the capture by clicking and dragging your cursor.
The resolution of the screen area you have selected is displayed in a floating dialogue box.
On a Windows system, you can open the in-built screen capture feature by pressing Ctrl + PrtScn or Windows + Shit + S.
If you don’t intend on doing any major manipulation or editing of the JPG file, using your PC’s screen capture feature might be the easiest way to complete this task.
But if you want to edit or manipulate your image, the screen capture feature would be too limited. Photoshop or GIMP would be better for that.
But we’ll only be covering the conversion part below.
Converting HTML to JPG with the Windows screen capture tool
To convert the file format with this method, you’ll be using your system’s screen capture feature.
If you have your HTML file open in your browser, you can then use the screen capture feature to capture a specific region you want to convert as JPG.
So, the order is:
- Open your HTML file in your browser or any viewable tool.
- Take a snapshot of an area with your screen capture tool (Snipping tool on Windows, for example).
- Click File > Save as.
- Select the location and select the Save as type as JPG.
Converting HTML to JPG with Lightshot
1. To get started with Lightshot, simply open the Lightshot app in your system after downloading it.
3. Open the webpage you wish to turn into a JPG.
3. Click the Lightshot icon in the system tray or the Print Screen key. Click a start point and drag it to select the area you wish to capture.
When you’ve decided on a region, a floating menu will appear to allow you to do additional things like adding an arrow line, creating a straight line, adding text, highlighting a specific region, and so on. You can make some edits here.
Under the chosen area, click the floppy disk symbol to save the screenshot to your computer.
Then, you can save the screenshot as a JPG, PNG, or BMP. You can save your screenshot locally on your computer instead of having to upload it first.
